Soaking our tired bones at Challis Hot Springs

Coincidence at the Park, or Celeste has boring parents:

Preface: Recently Celeste has learned to make fake snoring noises. We have fun saying "night, night," and then doing the fake snore breathing as we pretend to be asleep.

Celeste and I were swinging on the swings at the park. I had her on my lap. She loves swinging so we were there enjoying the shade for a long time. I started to tell her that when she grows up she can be anything she wants to be, and if she gets an education she might have a job that is really fun. I started mentioning various jobs. Then she let out a great big sigh.

A few minutes later I started telling her how much I loved her and that she is the cutest, smartest, prettiest, stongest, best little girl in the whole world, etc. While I was saying it Celeste started doing her fake snore.
We had a fun little break driving up to Challis. Celeste was happy about her swimwear and voluntarily got in the water.
Celeste got to wear a snazzy floaty suit over her regular suit.
Do I look like a banana?

We stopped to look at the 1983 earthquake scar and didn't stay long because of the furocious mosquitos.

You need shoes to go exploring. We stopped near trout haven where my grandparents fished a lot on the Big Lost river.

Look what I found.

Let's see if I can find some more. My family in AZ made this shirt for me.

Look out, I'm gonna throw it.

Still snow at 9,000 feet. Mt Borah, almost 13,000ft is nearby.

Re-hydrating at a yummy cafe in Challis.
Video:

This is truly amazing considering that every time I take C. to a pool she is scared and stays out of the water. Also the pool attendant said that getting in and out of the water is exactly how toddlers learn to swim. She got in and out at least 50 times. She was figuring out how the water feels.

Father's Day

Scott got a banana cream pie (his favorite) for Father's Day.

He got help blowing out the candles.

C. is getting very good at eating with a spoon and a fork.

Scott is the best daddy in the world. Celeste is his little princess and he adores her. He plays with her, makes her laugh, reads to her, teaches her things like counting, and to hold her nose and say "Eeewww!" when she sees a skunk. He sings to her, ballroom dances with her, and wrestles with her. He changes diapers, and gets up in the night when Celeste needs a drink of water. He stays with her in nursery so she won't be sad. (The honey-moon is over for nursery.)

Celeste gets excited to see Scott when he comes home from work. She missed him when he went fishing the other weekend and kept looking all over the house for him. Recently Celeste has started a new game where she says to Scott, "Mama!", and he says:"No, I'm Daddy." and then she says: "Mama!", and he says: "Daddy", and she says:"Mama", and he says "Daddy." and on and on and on. And she thinks it's so funny. Since Scott enjoys debating, I told him that finally he would have someone to debate with.

Egin Lake

Ready for adventure. She liked exploring the sandy hills.

Can't wait to get in that water.

The water was nice and warm and shallow.

Girl toes. C. enjoyed getting her nails painted for the first time yesterday.

Looking for tadpoles.

Getting braver.

Drying off in the warm sand.

A few other people were there.

Some people on horses rode across the lake.

Contrary to popular belief, there is a spot at the St Anthony sand dunes where you can go without being run over by an ATV. Celeste and I found it. It's a little lake in the sand that didn't get deeper than knee high. Since Scott was fishing we thought we'd have a girl adventure. We caught tadpoles in the lake. I was excited to see one of my maps hanging on the BlM kiosk there.

Kids say the cutest things

Celeste was feeding her cabbage patch kid dinner at the table. She held a green bean up to the doll's mouth, then she'd eat it herself. After several beans were given to the doll and then eaten, she said to the doll: "Oh, nooo! It's too hot, honey."

Celeste was looking at a picture book about frogs. It is full of colorful photos. A section of the book is on preditors, and shows a racoon catching a frog. I usually say, look at the cute racoon. But this time she was reading the book to me. When we got to this page she pointed to the frog and said. "Oh, no! He's in trouble!" Maybe daddy reads this book differently.

For the most part I don't understand what she says. It will be a year or two before she has full control of her lips and tongue, but here are a few of the things she says all the time:
